Stay in our country cottage accommodation at Inala on South Bruny Island, Tasmania.
Nestled in tall eucalypt forest on our 600 hectare (1500 acre) private conservation reserve at the foot of the South Bruny Ranges on Bruny Island, you have a choice of a three bedroom cottage (Inala cottage) or a one bedroom spa unit (Nairana cottage).
We have all twelve endemic bird species living at Inala amongst the rich and diverse conservation habitats.
The Inala reserve contains bird hides and viewing platforms, it is a reserve for birders run by birders, the perfect place to spend time amongst nature in Tasmania and an ideal base to explore Bruny Island.
Staying in an Inala cottage, places you inside the Inala private nature reserve, you are free to walk the property unaccompanied and use the platforms and hides. ( Raptor Photography Hide to be booked separately at an additional price)

Inala Cottage - One Night Stay
Our 3 bedroom cottage that was formerly a farmhouse on the property. The recently renovated cottage is of 4 star standard and is set in idyllic surroundings next to a tree-lined stream in a private setting in forest pasture surrounds with views of the South Bruny Ranges and tall eucalypt forest.
Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator freezer, electric stove with range hood extraction fan, microwave, a colour TV and DVD, washing machine and clothes dryer.
The main bathroom has a separate bath and shower and an ensuite bathroom with shower is adjacent to the master bedroom.
Heating includes a wood heater and inbuilt gas heater, with back-up portable electric fan heater, ceiling heater in bathroom and electric blankets on the beds.
The bedding arrangement is: bedroom 1 queen size bed, bedroom 2 two single beds, and bedroom 3 one single bed, extra pull out bed, cot & high chair available on request.

Nairana is a Tasmanian Aboriginal name for Wedge tailed Eagle, a species regularly seen at Inala. It is a one bedroom spa unit, built in 2005. The cottage is of 4.5 to 5 star standard, featuring high quality furnishings and Tasmanian timbers. It was purpose built to maximize bird and wildlife watching opportunities.
Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, freezer, gas cooktop and electric oven with rangehood extraction fan and microwave.
The bedroom has a queen size and single bed for twin share or double capacity and walk in robes with luggage shelf. There is also a double sofa bed on request.
Large TV and DVD in the lounge and dining area.
The bathroom has a separate spa bath and shower. The laundry contains a washing machine, clothes dryer and trough.
Heating includes a portable electric heater in both the lounge and bedroom, with a ceiling heater in the bathroom and electric blankets on the beds.

Lyenna Cottage
Lyenna on Mickey’s Bay, is a beachfront property in a tranquil and secluded location on South Bruny Island. The main residence is set on a 100 acres with surrounding eucalypt forest and has easy sheltered beach access.
A large living room and surrounding balcony afford spectacular views to the west across Mickey’s Bay. The idyllic bush setting also provides several walking tracks offering wild-life and bird watching opportunities. Additionally, the property has its own bird hide overlooking a water-hole.
Please Note:
This Property is not on Inala's Private Reserve, it is 15 minutes drive away from Inala on Lighthouse Road. Also note that it is 'off the grid' and whilst it is very modern and equip with a high powered solar system, you may have limitations on your power usage.
The residence has two bedrooms with a queen bed in each.

Booking Policy
You can book directly online, over the phone, by email or in person.
Deposit Policy
Your card will not automatically be charged for the booking amount at the time you enter your details.
Once the booking has been received by Inala staff, we will be in touch to confirm the booking and issue you an invoice with any additional tours or meals you may wish for.
You can then click on the payment link embedded in the invoice and pay by credit card, or choose to pay by funds transfer (details supplied on invoice).

Cancellation Policy
Cancellations with short notice (of even 2 months or more) are sometimes hard to re-book because of the long lead time most clients require to secure reservations. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you consider travel insurance when booking your trip, to cover you for any financial losses incurred for cancellation due to unforeseen circumstances.
If you cancel your visit, the following cancellation charges apply:
Cancellation any time after the deposit is paid incurs loss of the full deposit.(25%) If however we are able to fill your place on the tour, and we are able to recoup deposit funds paid to accommodation and other service providers, we may be in a position to reallocate some of your deposit to another tour booking if you so wish. Such requests are dealt with on a case by case basis.
Cancellations between 90-46 days prior to departure incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the tour cost.
Cancellations between 45 days or less prior to departure incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the tour cost (i.e. no refund).
If Inala Nature Tours have to cancel the tour due to unforeseen circumstances or as a result of undersubscription, then Inala will refund you all payments made to Inala by you for that tour.

No Show Policy
Deposit will not be returned in case of no show, please get in touch as soon as possible if you have any problems during your travel.

A child is 4-15 years and there is no accommodation charge for any infant who is 3 and under.
Due to the waterhole located outside Nairana cottage we do not recommend children stay in that cottage.
