Pleasant Mountain Retreat

Pleasant Mountain Retreat is a part of our Family Farm and offers you a place to retreat and relax.
Our property borders the Bania National Park and the beautiful Burnett High country allowing our guests an up close experience with the Australian bush and all its vibrant natural wildlife, birds and landscapes.
We are also the primary booking agent for a number of local and unique tour experiences which can be booked here on our website.

General Information

Check In : 2pm - 6pm

Reception Hours : All bookings are via our website or via email
After Hours : *As we are on a farm, in an area with limited mobile phone coverage email is our preferred method of contact, we will reply within 24hours.
*If you need to call us try Monday - Wednesday between 0900 & 12pm when one of our team members is usually in town
Car Parking : We have 2wd parking and 4wd(AWD) parking,we can show you these once you arrive.
Getting There : We have dropped a pin at the entrance to our property in both Google and Apple Maps, type in our property address and directions will be provided.

You can access Gaeta Road from either Mount Perry Road or Kalpower Road off the Bruce Highway.
Please do drive to the conditions as our road has gravel at times and roadsides are grazed by our neighbors cattle.

Top Of The Mountain Tour

Come and explore the Bania National Park with a 15min guided 4wd journey and a 1.5hour moderate bush walk up to Mothers Lookout.
All you need is a hat, shoes, water and enthusiasm for a nice walk in the bush.
Rate of $44 is for 1 adult, extra adults are $1 & children are $1.
(Tours run Fri, Sat & Sun, once a day leaving at 1000am)

Gaeta Gator Park Experience

Experience the world of the Australian Saltwater Crocodile and see the Burnett High Country's only 4m Crocodile called Diesel.
Tour includes interactive story telling, hands on crocodile skin leather key ring making, and other exciting crocodile education including a photo with Diesel.
Experience Rates: $57 for first adult, other adults $9 each, children $3 each.
(The Park runs experiences Fri, Sat & Sun twice a day at 0930am & 2pm)

Within a few minutes of Pleasant Mountain Retreat there are a number of activities you can partake in. These are all listed on our website Pleasant Mountain Retreat. We recommend the 'Geata Gator Park & 'Top of the Mountain' tour experiences.

Business Facilities

There is limited mobile phone coverage on our farm, you may have to walk a significant way to find it. Mobile coverage can be accessed with a 5km drive up the road and our team members can provide you with directions, please feel free to ask.

Dining

Please bring your own food for the duration of your stay.
We do provide a refrigerator and a microwave and BBQ for cooking.
There is also an outdoor fireplace for cooking in ideal weather.
From time to time we do offer a BBQ dinner on Saturday nights where as your hosts we will provide a BBQ pack and you are welcome to join our family for a BBQ evening meal. You can book this extra package in the bookings part of our website.

Terms and Conditions

Booking Policy

*You will be required to provide Photo ID at check-in to verify your identity, thank you.
*There is no booking fee when you book direct with us.
* If your family or group requires extra space you are welcome to book our second Mountain View Cabin and or our tent/camper trailer sites. You can do this during checkout in the 'Add On' section.

Deposit Policy

Farmstay Guests:
*For all bookings, a 50% deposit of the total tariff is required to confirm your booking.
*The total remaining tariff is payable 14 days prior to your arrival, if you are arriving withing 14 days of making your booking full payment will be deducted from credit card at the time of booking.
*Payments can be made by direct deposit if booked more than 7 days prior to your stay (please request an invoice from us via email and full payment will be required).
*Payments can also be made online via our secure payment site. All credit card transactions will incur a 3% surcharge at the time of booking.

Tour Guests:
Full payment is required at the time of booking for all tours.

Cancellation Policy

Farmstay Guests:
*You can cancel your booking up to 14 calendar days prior to your arrival and receive a refund of your tariff less a cancellation fee of 15%
*Deposit may be transferred to a future booking up to 6 months, if 2 weeks notice of original check in date is given.
*If you cancel your accommodation within the 14 days and we cannot assist you in securing another date for your visit, your tariff will be refunded less a 40% cancellation fee of the total tariff.

Tour Guests:
* If you cancel your tour and and are not able to reschedule for a future date the following will apply
- 3 or more days notice full refund less $10 admin fee;
- 2 days notice full refund less $25 admin fee;

No Show Policy

Farmstay Guests:
If the booking is cancelled 24 hours prior to your stay or in the case of a no show, the total booking cost will be charged.

Tour Guests:

If the booking is cancelled 24 hours prior to your booking or in the case of a no show, the total booking cost will be charged.

Child Policy

*Children are most welcome.
*The Queen Mountain Cabin can fit two extra single mattress or if you prefer, you are welcome to bring your tent or camper trailer for the kids.
There is a fee for the tent and trailer sites, these can be booked as 'add ons' during online payment.
* While every safety precaution is taken to ensure you have a pleasant stay we do ask parents/guardians to ensure your children's safety during your visit.

Check-in Policy

*Please arrive at our Farmstay between the hours of 2pm and 6pm. Due to council bylaws our front gate will be closed at 7pm.
*Also for your traveling safety it is better to arrive during daylight hours.
* Tour details will be emailed to you once payment is received.

Other Policy

* As we are a working farm, please do not enter areas protected by closed gates or climb fences unless you are with one of our tours or with a member of our farm team.
* We also ask that you do not pat or feed any animals unless directed to do so on one of our tours or by a member of our farm team.
* As an Eco-cabin we use the resources provided by nature, we welcome you to use what you need during your stay but please be mindful to avoid wastage of power and water.
