Private farm stay experience, Settlers Rest cottage is an idyllic location less than 20 minutes from Perth airport, set amongst the vineyards of the Swan Valley. With uninterrupted valley views guests are gifted a taste of the tranquil Australian country lifestyle, less than half an hour from the city centre, wake to the sounds of chirping birds and collect freshly laid eggs for breakfast.
With just one 3 bedroom cottage, your family will be the only guests on our 14 acre farm and will have exclusive access to the farm and our friendly farm animals. Guests are welcome to hand feed the friendly goats, sheep, lambs (in season), in their own time. They are big fans of carrots and apples, so be sure to bring them with you. Our chickens love to receive food scraps, and their fresh eggs are delicious. You will find our friendly cow Lena roaming the farm, along with Fred and Ralph our two alpacas.
Throw on a pair of gumboots supplied, and take a stroll to the river, passing majestic horses that love to come and say hello. Fish or swim from the private jetty, take a picnic if you wish or simply enjoy sunset drinks as the sun sets across the river.
All linen and towels are provided, guests require their own food supplies. Grocery shops are a short drive. Fully equipped kitchen will take care of all your cooking requirements, gas BBQ is located outside. If cooking isn't your thing, Uber Eats are available, or take a short 5 minute drive to one of the local eateries, there are several to chose from.
Laundry with washing machine and dryer for your convenience. Washing detergent required.
Cosy open fire place along with convection wall heaters, for winter warm. Summer air conditioning.
Well located with easy drive of major Swan Valley attractions. Caversham Wildlife Park and Margaret River Chocolate Factory, two must visits, just 5 minutes drive. Wineries and Restaurants, cafes, 5 minutes.

Car Parking : Free onsite parking is available in front of the cottage. Just park at the cottage and look for the “Parking” sign.
Getting There : Just 16 kilometres from Perth Airport, take Tonkin Highway northbound (State Route 4), then exit onto Reid Highway (State Route 3) toward Swan Valley. Turn left onto West Swan Road, then right onto George Street. The property is clearly signposted, with the sign located at the corner of George Street and West Swan Road. For guests arriving after dark, the property sign and driveway lights leading to the cottage will be switched on.
